~ A Memorable Evening, Indeed ~

While learning Premise, West Publishing's law search app, I needed to enter something to search for. Not knowing any legalese, I just typed in armadillo in Texas Cases. There was The Case of the Armadillo That Crossed the Road, but this paragraph had us all in stitches the rest of the day:

Defensive testimony showed that at the time of the offense appellant was living with his wife in a small house behind the home of his aunt. Appellant, his wife and his aunt all testified that appellant spent the evening of July 2, 1982, with relatives at his aunt's house. The occasion was memorable in that his aunt barbequed an armadillo his father had run over the day before.

Ewww...

The law can be funny.
